Dwelling Fire on Box 7-6
Sunday , April 17, 2009- Engine tanker 14 was dispatched at 2027 hours to 8178 Lincoln Way East, Box 7-6 for a dwelling fire. Engine tanker 14 arrived on scene and staged behind Squad 41 for a short while before the crew was put to work setting up positive pressure ventilation and assisting with debris removal. The crew operated on the scene for a little over an hour before going into service at 2152 hours.

Dwelling Fire on Box 4409
Wednesday , April 13, 2009- Engine tanker 14 was dispatched along with the rest of the dwelling fire assignment to 79 Sunset Avenue at 0911 hours. Station 4 arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke showing from the roof and put lines into service. Engine tanker arrived on the scene and connected to a short section of 3" and supplied engine 43 until the situation with the hydrant was figured out. Engine tanker 14 gave 43 3/4 of a tank before returning to service at 1022 hours.

Woods Fire on Box 18-13
Sunday, April 5, 2009- While members were cleaning up from the training engine tanker 14 was dispatched at 1632 hours to assist Company 18 with a woods fire at 9886 Eden Dr. Engine tanker 14 arrived on scene and supplied engine tanker 18 and also filled SU-44 and Brush 18 before being placed in service at 1750 hours
Company Training
Sunday, April 5, 2009- Friendship members and engine tanker 14 went to the training center to do some training on vehicle fires. Members did several different evolutions with different scenarios.
Tire Fire on Box 15-2
Saturday, March 28, 2009- Engine Tanker 14 was dispatched 1758 hours to 681 Weaver Rd. to assist Company 15 with a pile of tires on fire. Company 15 was originally dispatched to that location for a brush fire, while units were responding communications advised that there was a pile of approximately 25-30 tires involved. Command 15 requested that a tanker and two additional brush trucks were added to the box. Engine tanker 14 arrived on the scene and set to fill brush trucks. After a little over an hour Command 15 down graded the box releasing engine tanker 14 at 1908 hours.
Pump Operations Class
Saturday, March 28, 2009- With the classroom portion complete the students moved on to the hands on portion. Engine tanker 14, Engine 1-1 and Engine 18-1 went to Loop Rd. to do drafting and many other pump operations related tasks. A hydrant on Nitterhouse Dr. was also used to perform hydrant operations. A special thanks to Instructor Neil Gunnet for taking time to instruct this class.
One Garage and Two Exposures Monday, March 23, 2009- Engine tanker 14 was dispatched at 1358 hours to Company 17s area for a garage fire. Chief 17 arrived on scene to find a fully involved garage with two (2) sheds on either side of the garage on fire as well. Engine tanker 14 arrived on scene and sent a crew to the scene to assist with fire attack and salvage and overhaul. Assistant Chief 14 was given water supply command while other members assisted with the setup of portable tanks and other various tasks assigned to them. Engine tanker 14 hauled 3 loads of water and supplied Engine 43. Engine tanker 14 went available at 1554 hours.
Transfer leads to Crash and Medical Friday, March 6, 2009- Engine tanker 14 was dispatched to transfer to Company 18 while they operated on a brush fire in Company 9s area. While on the transfer communications dispatched a motorcycle accident in the 9-18 box area, sending Engine 45 from Company 9 and Engine 18-2. With manpower being slim the engine tanker crew went on engine 18-2 to assist with the accident. While units were operating on the accident, engine tanker 14 was called for medical assist and responded with 2 personnel to assist ambulance 18-8. Engine tanker 14 cleared the medical at 1628 hours and cleared the transfer at 1643 hours.
Dwelling Fire On Box 1-01 Wednesday, March 4, 2009- Engine tanker 14 responded with Company 1, Truck 17, and Squad 41 at 1747 hours to 116 Kennedy St, for a reported dwelling fire. Company 1 units arrived to find smoke from the attic area with a room off on the third floor. Crews from Co. 1 and Sta 4 put 2 lines in service and started an aggressive attack. The engine tanker crew preformed a primary and secondary search and set up lighting on the second floor. After the fire was marked under control came the extensive task of salvage and overhaul. The crew from the tanker assisted with clearing out the front room and hallway on the third floor. Engine tanker 14 went available 2027 hours.
Warm days bring training Sunday, February 8, 2009- With the weather being warm the engine tanker and a crew went to St. Thomas Township to partake in some training. The Engine Tanker and Engine 18-2 went to Williamson to a stream to do training on some pump operations. The Engine and Engine Tanker did drafting operations and other related tasks. A special thanks to Chief 18 for allowing us to participate in the training.
Last Shift Thursday, January 29, 2009-Members gathered at the station this evening to wish Career Firefighter Rich Trace a happy retirement. Rich has been a career firefighter with the Borough of Chambersburg since 1964. He started his career at that time as an ambulance attendant at the McKinley Street Station. Now after almost 45 years he is retiring from the station that he started in. The members and the officers of the McKinley St. Station would like to wish him the best of luck with his retirement.
Fatal Fire In Fort Loudon Tuesday, January 27, 2009-Engine Tanker 14 was dispatched at around 0740 hours to 13703 Main Street Fort Loudon for a building fire. Engine tanker 14 was part of the second alarm assignment on the 9-18A box. Engine tanker 14 arrived on the scene and sent manpower to assist with suppression activities. The tanker shuttled numerous loads of water before going in service at around 1408 hours.
Another Fire on Box 18-4 Saturday, January 17, 2009-Engine Tanker 14 was dispatched at around 1900 hours to 7669 Cumberland Circle to assist Company 18 with a mobile home fire. Engine tanker 14 was dispatched as part of the second alarm tanker assignment, engine tanker 14 arrived on the scene and staged on St. Thomas Edenville Road behind Squad 3. Manpower was sent to the scene to assist with salvage and overhaul. The crew was sent to the "A" - "B" corner of the structure to remove the tin and insulation from the exterior. The crew was than released from the scene by command 18 and engine tanker 14 went available at 1958 hours.
Garage Fire Tuesday, January 13, 2009-Engine Tanker 14 was dispatched at around 1910 hours to 167 Coble Road to assist Company 18 with a garage fire. Engine tanker 14 arrived on scene and sent its manpower back the long lane to assist with fire attack and overhaul. The engine tanker staged on the road and was not utilized. The crew remained on the scene for a little over an hour before going into service at 2035 hours.
Brush Fire Saturday, January 3, 2009-Engine Tanker 14 was dispatched at 1354 hours to 2244 Loop Road to assist Sta. 4 with a brush fire. Engine tanker 14 arrived on scene and supplied Engine 45 with water. The engine tanker remained on the scene for a short while units finished up operations. Engine tanker went available at 1443 hours.
Smoke in a Dwelling with a Transfer Friday, January 2, 2009-Engine Tanker 14 was dispatched at 2019 hours to 170 Guilford Drive; Box 7-1 for smoke in a dwelling. Engine tanker 14 arrived on the scene with units from Sta. 4 and staged behind Engine 45. After a short while Command 7 down graded the assignment placing 14 in service at 2035 hours. While enroute back to the station communications asked if Engine Tanker 14 could transfer to Company 7. Engine Tanker 14 was on the transfer for about an hour before being placed in service at 2136 hours.
